Fired at 1200 degrees or higher, Sprout's High Fired Series are less breathable and less hygroscopic (water-retaining power) compared to their signature line – however, this comes with the added advantage of being more robust. High fired pots also have the quality of being to stay clean despite mineral salt leaching (a common occurrence with terracotta). It's texture is akin to that of a smooth stone; while the fine natural black and white grains are redolent of a sandy beach.
